Who's Driving The Bus?

I remember growing up, everywhere you went you'd see people driving cars with a license plate on the front that said, "Jesus is my co-pilot." As a youngster I would be impressed, believing that the people driving cars with that license plate were Christians. I believed that the license plate was their flag or banner, announcing to the world that they were in the presence of the Lord, even while in their cars.

I believed that the people driving those cars were proud to be Christians, they were proud to have Jesus ride along with them as they traveled to and fro. They believed that Jesus would protect them from hurt, harm, and danger while they were out on the dangerous highways.

Over time the license plates seemed to fade out, and today they are very seldom seen. I don't know why that is. But as I reflected on the old plates, now being grown in age, and mature in the word of God, I began to ask myself, if Jesus is the co-pilot, "Who's Driving The Bus?"

If we have reduced Jesus to being our co-pilot, how can we stand and say, "First giving honor to God, who is the head of my life," when in all actuality, Jesus is simply your co-pilot? If all we desire from God is to have him along for the ride, "Who's Driving The Bus?"

King Solomon said in Proverbs 3: 5-7,

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

This blog is not written to question anyone's Christianity, or to question anyone's standing with God, I'm simply asking, "Who's Driving The Bus?" It is not for me to question anyone's faith or salvation, yet, I can ask, "Who's Driving The Bus?"

For truth is, the vast majority of us, even as Christians, have grown accustomed to calling our own shots, charting our own course, and making our own choices and decisions, while asking Jesus to be our co-pilot.

The full gist of the matter is this, "God can't be God if you are sitting on the throne." And even further, Jesus will not be your co-pilot, "He wants to drive." Are you fully and totally submitted to the leadership and guidance of God? Are you willing to relinquish the wheel, and let God direct your paths?

Again I ask, "Who's Driving The Bus?"

I'm Just Saying
