                                              I've Seen That Look Before

I've seen that look before

That look

You know the one

That look of bewilderment and confusion

That look of doubt, disbelief, and fear

That look that resembles a deer caught in the headlights

I've seen that look before

That look of a brave kid going out to face Goliath with a slingshot

That look of a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar

That look that silently screams for help through tear stained eyes

That look that requests an immediate life-line because the bottom is falling out

I've seen that look before

I've seen that look of pure joy and sheer exuberation

That look of having dreams come true

That look of realizing a long awaited miracle

I've seen that look before

I've seen that look before

I've seen that look

Not on the face of a stranger, or a character in a movie

I've Seen That Look

In My Mirror
